Mountain Adventure

Read Acts 27:1 through 28:31

One sunny Saturday, Jeremy asked Susan, “How would you like to ride up to the mountains with the kids? There is plenty of snow and it’s not too cold. It will be ideal for sledding”

The sledding was fantastic and the children were reluctant to stop, but Jeremy could see threatening clouds beginning to form. Going down the mountain they were suddenly engulfed in a thick cloud, with visibility reduced near zero. Unexpectedly the car slid off the road, sliding into a snowbank.

Trusting God’s guidance, Jeremy backed the car onto the road and silently prayed for this nightmare to end. Gradually visibility improved and Jeremy was startled to discover they had only been in the cloud a few minutes. Moments later, he led his family in thanking God for His guidance and protection.

Whether its a storm at sea, a storm on land, or a storm in your personal life, God can be trusted to guide and to protect. Paul and his companions were kept safe, although the ship that carried them was destroyed (Acts 27:22). What forces are threatening you today? Keep your eyes on the God who is able to deliver you!

Thought for Today: God can be trusted even though we can’t see what lies ahead.
